Straighten a crooked photo

You’ve made a photo of a beautiful landscape, but the horizon is not straight. In this tutorial you’ll learn how to straighten your image.

Photoshop elements tutorial: Staighten a crooked photo

Step 1: Straighten your image.

Open the photo straighten in photoshop elements.
Select the straighten tool in the toolbox.

Drag a lign as indicated in the photo below.  You must follow the crooked line.

The photo will automaticly straigthen itself.

 

Step 2: When your image is straighten. Get ride of the transparant borders.

Select the crop tool in the toolbox.

If you don’t see the croptool as indictated in the image, right click on the button (recompose tool) and choose the crop tool.
Choose in the menu behind aspect ratio for Use photo ratio to keep the ratio of the photo.

Drag a rectancle as in the photo below.
To confirm click on the green ‘Commit’ at the bottom right corner of the rectancle.

and your have a straighten image

TIP
If you choose image – rotate – straigthen and crop image this is supposed to do it to. If you try it on this photo, you will see it will not work.
